YES, that is madness that you could reach that age and level and never make corn bread. It is one of my most favorite things! It is so, SO good!

Sorry about the stress and craziness of the restaurant and catering business. It would be crazy to try to strive for normalcy under such constant ebbs and flows! I didn’t know you were doing it all with ONE kitchen!

Once again, I’m obsessed with that gorgeous blue plate. It’s so pritty!

It’s awesome that something so basic can be great. If you make it let me know how it goes.

I think the hardest thing about owning a restaurant and being so busy is that I have a hard time pursuing more than one hobby at a time. Right now the hobby is cooking, but I rarely have time to read or sleep for that matter.

You’d think having grown up in Texas I would be a cornbread fanatic, but I’m not. It has to be just perfect for me to enjoy (I think I’d be like the boys and like the last recipe too). However I’ve never ventured into trying to make one from scratch; this will definitely be the recipe I turn to when I’m ready!! You know when my kids let me have more than 5 uninterrupted seconds at a time in the kitchen.

sounds like a great recipe. I think buttermilk is the key to good cornbread and I think a cast iron skillet imparts a really special flavor. can’t wait to try this recipe!

You did great! The ONLY way to make Cornbread is using a cast iron skillet.

Hubby and I have only been married two years. (Although are a bit older than you) The first time I made him some cornbread…he was shocked that he’d never had it like this before. From that day, until this…cornbread is a ’staple’ in our home.

I’m grateful to have found your site!
